Car-pooling<br />

generated 150 proposals,<br />
including car-pooling.<br />
In a bid to encourage this<br />
environmentally-friendly<br />
practice, the company has set<br />
up a car-pooling website for<br />
its employees. Additionally,<br />

supports its employees’<br />
efforts by fi nancing the<br />
planting of fi ve trees through<br />
the Cœur de Forêt association<br />
for every employee that<br />
registers with the scheme<br />

At the international level, <strong>BNP</strong> <strong>Paribas</strong> is now present in 41 countries under<br />
the Cardif banner which reported total revenues of EUR 6.9 billion in 2007, an<br />
increase of 14% on the previous year.<br />
In 2007 <strong>BNP</strong> <strong>Paribas</strong> Assurance reinforced its already strong positioning in<br />
regions that offer extensive opportunities for development in bancassurance:<br />
Croatia, Colombia, Scandinavia and Turkey.<br />
The international savings activity registered revenues of EUR 4.6 billion, up 20%<br />
on the previous year.<br />
Europe, which now accounts for 75% of savings deposits outside France, posted<br />
substantial revenue growth in 2007 thanks in particular to products sold in<br />
the United Kingdom.<br />
Elsewhere the savings business continued to thrive both in developed countries<br />
like South Korea and Taiwan and fast-growing countries like India.<br />
Thanks to a comprehensive and innovative offering and a benign macroeconomic<br />
and sociological environment, the protection business generated total<br />
revenues of EUR 2.3 billion outside France.<br />
2007 was marked by very prosperous conditions in countries such as Spain<br />
(up 48% versus 2006), Italy (up 26% versus 2006), Argentina (up 63% versus<br />
2006) and Brazil (up 87% versus 2006).<br />

SBI branch network as<br />
well as through NGOs and<br />
microfi nance establishments.<br />
They enable vulnerable<br />
populations to obtain life<br />
cover at very advantageous<br />
prices (from less than<br />

2,500 head offi ce employees<br />
to take part in a series of<br />
conferences and events<br />
dedicated to this theme.<br />
Underscoring global<br />
warming and the threats<br />
to biodiversity, the week<br />
included a viewing of the<br />
documentary An Inconvenient<br />
Truth and a presentation<br />
given by astrophysicist<br />
Hubert Reeves. Also under<br />
discussion were sustainable<br />
development as a business<br />
model and the environmental<br />
programmes of the main<br />
French presidential<br />
candidates.<br />
Employees particularly<br />
appreciated this “corporate<br />
citizenship” initiative<br />
and welcomed the<br />
awareness-raising<br />
