3.10 Empirical results<br />
3.10.1 Descriptive statistics<br />
We used median splits <strong>to</strong> classify the antecedents in<strong>to</strong> low-equity versus high-equity brands and<br />
then calculated the average SSI and CI for each group. We also used median splits <strong>to</strong> distinguish<br />
between s<strong>to</strong>re-loyal and s<strong>to</strong>re-switching consumers and complainers and noncomplainers. In<br />
Table 3.5, we report the average SSI and CI and the percentages of s<strong>to</strong>re switchers and<br />
complainers for each antecedent. We find substantial significant differences that underline the<br />
