Laboratory 5 hours. COREQUISITE: Music 181. The student uses departmental practice rooms to further enhance<br />

appropriate techniques and repertoire for the specific instrument or voice being studied in the co-requisite music course,<br />

with an emphasis on the progressive development of skills needed for solo performance. The focus is on playing or singing<br />

with precise rhythms, correct pitches and accurate intonation.<br />

the specific instrument or voice being studied, with an emphasis on the progressive development of skills needed for solo<br />

performance. The focus is on playing or singing with the articulation, dynamics, phrasing, and expression appropriate to<br />

the literature being studied, and if singing, diction appropriate to texts of the literature. Achievement is evaluated through a<br />

juried performance.<br />

MUSIC 183 - APPLIED MUSIC III (UC:CSU) - 0.50 UNITS<br />

Laboratory 1 hour. PREREQUISITE: Music 182 with a satisfactory grade or equivalent. Co-requisite: Music 180-3. The<br />

student studies appropriate techniques and repertoire for the specific instrument or voice being studied, with an emphasis<br />

on the progressive development of skills needed for solo performance. The focus is on demonstrating appropriate blend and<br />

balance when performing with an accompanist, and playing or singing in a stylistically appropriate manner suitable to the<br />

genre, period, and style of the literature. Achievement is evaluated through a juried performance. For transfer-oriented<br />
