parents in 1816; married Mary Severns, daughter of Joseph<br />

and Margaret (Butler) Severns; she was born in Virginia in<br />

[808: died in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, in 1853. He died<br />

at Massilon, Ohio, in 1874. His father Zepheniah<br />

Wade was of English ancestry, born 1775. served in the<br />

war of 1812. emigrated to Ohio in 1816; married Irene<br />

Longly. she was born in 1770. died in 1866. He died in<br />

Richland in 1866. Her father, Joseph Severns was born in<br />

1747. died in 1837; he was a "mighty hunter" and Indian<br />

fighter always '"worsted an Indian at his own game." He<br />

wore the blue woolen •"Indian shirt" and leggins with red<br />

fringe, to the day of his death. His wife. Margaret Butler<br />

died in Virginia at the age of 45. Children:<br />

the battle of Monmouth, r She went to live with her daughter.<br />

Mrs. John Ball, in Lee. Mass.. in 1882 and died there on<br />

the evening of May 11. 1891; she was a lady of more than<br />

ordinary force of character. Her religious beliefs were<br />

strong and she lived up to them.' She was the first person<br />

baptized in the fellowship of the Baptist church in Adams.<br />

. 1794. He died at Adams. Jeffer-<br />

Jefferson county. N. Y.. Jan. 7. 1848; very soon after its<br />

formation. Her Christian life was a cheerful one. The Baptist<br />

church owes the beautiful memorial window to its pastor<br />

to her. The funeral services were held in the Baptist church<br />

in Adams. She was buried in the rural cemetery by the side<br />

of her husband and son. Children, all born in Denmark.<br />
