quarters of the army of 1S12, emigrated to Ohio with his
parents in 1816; married Mary Severns, daughter of Joseph
and Margaret (Butler) Severns; she was born in Virginia in
[808: died in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, in 1853. He died
at Massilon, Ohio, in 1874. His father Zepheniah
Wade was of English ancestry, born 1775. served in the
war of 1812. emigrated to Ohio in 1816; married Irene
Longly. she was born in 1770. died in 1866. He died in
Richland in 1866. Her father, Joseph Severns was born in
1747. died in 1837; he was a "mighty hunter" and Indian
fighter always '"worsted an Indian at his own game." He
wore the blue woolen •"Indian shirt" and leggins with red
fringe, to the day of his death. His wife. Margaret Butler
died in Virginia at the age of 45. Children:

the battle of Monmouth, r She went to live with her daughter.
Mrs. John Ball, in Lee. Mass.. in 1882 and died there on
the evening of May 11. 1891; she was a lady of more than
ordinary force of character. Her religious beliefs were
strong and she lived up to them.' She was the first person
baptized in the fellowship of the Baptist church in Adams.
. 1794. He died at Adams. Jeffer-
Jefferson county. N. Y.. Jan. 7. 1848; very soon after its
formation. Her Christian life was a cheerful one. The Baptist
church owes the beautiful memorial window to its pastor
to her. The funeral services were held in the Baptist church
in Adams. She was buried in the rural cemetery by the side
of her husband and son. Children, all born in Denmark.
