From the easy flowing style of these productions it is evident<br />

that Mr. McMahon is a born paragraphist, and would<br />

have succeeded in editorial life, or as an author.<br />

married Mary Wales. July 9. 1789; she was born March 16.<br />

1773, at Union, Tolland. Co., Conn.; she was the daughter<br />

of Dea. Elijah Wales. David died at Lawrenceville, Pa.,<br />

Aug. 2. 1823; she died at Williamsburg. Pa.. May 4. 1826.<br />

He was a Baptist minister, was well educated, understood<br />

several languages: Greek, Hebrew, among them; professors<br />

in colleges studied with him during vacation. He devoted<br />

his leisure time to study. He was killed by falling out of his<br />

carriage, when going down a steep hill. His neck being<br />

broken. Children:<br />
