RATHBONE GENEALOGY.<br />

Oct. 2/, 1 88 1. He was raised on a farm, attended school<br />

in a log school house, attended the Missouri State University<br />

in 1876-7-8. Taught school two years, was elected<br />

county treasurer of Caldwell Co., Mo., Nov. 2, 1880; served<br />

six years, was appointed deputy county clerk, Jan. 1, 1886,<br />

served four years, resigned and accepted the position of<br />

cashier of the Kingston bank, served two years; he then resigned<br />

to accept a similar position in the Farmers' and Traders''<br />

bank of Bramer, Mo. Children:<br />

1. Ethlyn Lois, b. Aug. 28, 1882.<br />

2. Russell Blaine, b. Oct. 4, 18S9.<br />

JOHN RATHBONE (John 5 , William 4 , John 3 , John-,<br />

), born ; married Mary Ross, July 31, 1755.<br />

He and Mary, will to son John, northeast end of homestead<br />

farm after wife's death on certain conditions; grandson, Tibbetts,<br />

Simeon and Thomas <strong>Rathbone</strong>, being sons of Anna,<br />

with whom my son John lives with and is further known as<br />

Anna Hopkins, dan. of William, half of homestead farm at<br />

death of wife and son John: daughter. Patience Clark, thirtysix<br />

acres of that given son John; she to pay wife ten pounds<br />

flax and bushel of Indian corn yearly; case of drawers. Elizabeth<br />

Spencer and Marion Hill, farm of fifty acres of that<br />

given above: daughter, Elizabeth paying to wife yearly four<br />

bushels of corn and daughter Marion one bushel of corn and<br />

seven pounds of wool; wife Mary, sundry items; son John,<br />

wearing apparel, steel yards, great bible, great chair, one<br />

steer, farming utensils, rest and residue; son John, executor.<br />

Dated Feb. 26, 1781. Proved Oct. 5. 1781. Witness,<br />

Ezekicl Whitford, Francis Harrington, Moses Albro. Inventory,<br />
