RATHBONE GENEALOGY.
Oct. 2/, 1 88 1. He was raised on a farm, attended school
in a log school house, attended the Missouri State University
in 1876-7-8. Taught school two years, was elected
county treasurer of Caldwell Co., Mo., Nov. 2, 1880; served
six years, was appointed deputy county clerk, Jan. 1, 1886,
served four years, resigned and accepted the position of
cashier of the Kingston bank, served two years; he then resigned
to accept a similar position in the Farmers' and Traders''
bank of Bramer, Mo. Children:
1. Ethlyn Lois, b. Aug. 28, 1882.
2. Russell Blaine, b. Oct. 4, 18S9.
JOHN RATHBONE (John 5 , William 4 , John 3 , John-,
Richard 1
), born ; married Mary Ross, July 31, 1755.
He and Mary, will to son John, northeast end of homestead
farm after wife's death on certain conditions; grandson, Tibbetts,
Simeon and Thomas Rathbone, being sons of Anna,
with whom my son John lives with and is further known as
Anna Hopkins, dan. of William, half of homestead farm at
death of wife and son John: daughter. Patience Clark, thirtysix
acres of that given son John; she to pay wife ten pounds
flax and bushel of Indian corn yearly; case of drawers. Elizabeth
Spencer and Marion Hill, farm of fifty acres of that
given above: daughter, Elizabeth paying to wife yearly four
bushels of corn and daughter Marion one bushel of corn and
seven pounds of wool; wife Mary, sundry items; son John,
wearing apparel, steel yards, great bible, great chair, one
steer, farming utensils, rest and residue; son John, executor.
