b. Aug. 3, i860, in New Lyme, Ohio; he graduated at Oberlin
College 1884; he was a teacher in the Hopkin Academy
of East Oakland, Cal.; he married Hattie Streeter of Ober-
lin, Ohio, July 6, 1886; he d. in California Nov. 6, 1890.
2. Edwin Douglass, b. March 6, 1836; at the age of
three years he went to Erie with his uncle, William Douglas,
whose name he took; he m. Maria Crosby Jan. 2, 1863;
she was b. in Rome, Ashtabula Co., Ohio, March 16, 1840;he
is now a successful farmer.
3. Abel Goodrich, b. in Salem, Conn., Aug. 12,
1837; m. Fenette P. Watson.
4. John Orlando, b. in New Lyme, Ohio, Jan. 24,
1843; he is a farmer and lives on the homestead in South
New Lyme, Ohio; not married in 1884.
5. Mary Janette, b. in New Lyme, Ohio, Sept. 23.
1845; not m - m l &&4', liV"es on the homestead farm with her
mother and brother.
6. Adeline Elnora. b. in New Lyme, Ohio, May 31,
1849; m. Howard Shatter of Morgan, Ashtabula Co., Ohio.

Maria was the third child of Levi Crosby, born April 2,
1803, died Jan., 1846, in Herkimer Co., N. Y.; married Feb.
28, 1843. Went to Rome, Ohio.
He was the eighth child of Elijah Crosby of East Haddam
,Conn. Was born May 13, 1764, and died July 3,
1835, at Rome, Ohio. His wife Phoebe. Church born Oct.
