1867. He was admitted to the bar in 1853 and has been in
continual practice since except four years while in the late
Rebellion. He was private, captain, colonel, was also a
state Senator. He left his native state. New York when 12
years old; he left alone and on foot, landed in Detroit, Mich..
and has resided there ever since. Children:
1. Chester, b. Aug. 12, 1854.
2. Franklin Lincoln, b. April 27, 1870. in Manistee, Mich.; he
graduated at Ann Arbor: he is a lawyer.
3. Angeline Holden. b. Dec. 5, 1872.
4- S. Willie, b. July 4. 1875: d- April 10. 1885.

1872; she was born Dec. 28, 1789, died April 25, 1870. Children:
