<strong>and</strong> was completed by 3:30 PM. Survey weather conditions were overcast (75-90% overcast)<br />

with temperatures rising to 80 ▫ F. <strong>and</strong> winds 3 to 18 mph. Two new species were observed, the<br />

northern cloudywing skipper (Thorybes pylades) <strong>and</strong> least skipperling (Ancyloxypha numitor)<br />

(Table 23). More European skippers (Thymelicus lineola) were observed this year than in the<br />

previous five years, but significantly fewer common wood nymphs (Cercyonis pegala) were<br />

observed than in previous years. Twenty-two species were recorded for a total of 156<br />

individuals. The number of different species observed is similar to 2005; however, there were<br />

more individuals in 2009.<br />
