Gateway GT104CS: AS-AS bus communication<br />
TELEPERM M - <strong>PCS</strong> 7<br />
■ Overview<br />
SIMATIC <strong>PCS</strong> 7 plant sections on the Industrial Ethernet plant<br />
bus can be linked perfectly with existing TELEPERM M plant<br />
sections on the CS 275 plant bus by a combination of the<br />
<strong>PCS</strong>7/TM-OS operator system with double-channel functionality<br />
and GT104CS gateway. This combination enables the communication<br />
load to be distributed evenly over the plant bus. While the<br />
<strong>PCS</strong>7/TM-OS operator system with its double-channel functionality<br />
takes over the AS-OS communication with the automation<br />
systems on both CS 275 plant buses and Industrial Ethernet, as<br />
well as the clock synchronization for the TELEPERM M plant section,<br />
the inter-plant bus AS-AS communication is processed via<br />
the GT104CS gateway.<br />
The gateway behaves like a virtual automation system.<br />
In connection with the GT104CS gateway, the automation systems<br />
AS 488/TM, AS 235, AS 230 and AS 220 can be used on<br />
the TELEPERM M side. The gateway has a bus and node address<br />
on the TELEPERM M CS 275 plant bus, via which the cyclic<br />
data can be exchanged with as many as 32 automation systems<br />
on the SIMATIC <strong>PCS</strong> 7 Industrial Ethernet plant bus (TCP/IP<br />
protocol). The communication is configured in the participating<br />
function blocks of the TELEPERM M and SIMATIC <strong>PCS</strong> 7 automation<br />
systems and can also be performed online. Once the<br />
connection is set up, the gateway couples the configured transmission<br />
and reception blocks.<br />

■ Configuration<br />
At the GT104CS gateway, the bus and bus node address are to<br />
be set on the plant bus CS 275 by means of DIP switches. For<br />
communication with the SIMATIC <strong>PCS</strong> 7 automation system, the<br />
gateway requires only a few parameters (IP address). The connection<br />
between the SIMATIC <strong>PCS</strong> 7 automation systems and<br />
the gateway is configured using the SIMATIC Manager.<br />
The necessary configuration work for this is minimal. For the<br />
SIMATIC <strong>PCS</strong> 7 automation systems, function blocks for the<br />
TELEPERM M standard functions AKS, BKS, AKE and BKE are<br />
also supplied, as well as a central communications block<br />
TM_LINK.<br />
By means of the TM_LINK communications block and the<br />
GT104CS gateway, the AKS, BKS, AKE and BKE blocks of the<br />
SIMATIC <strong>PCS</strong> 7 automation systems communicate with the AKS,<br />
BKS, AKE and BKE blocks in the TELEPERM M automation systems,<br />
which are assigned by addressing. The function block<br />
TM_LINK uses the S7 system functions USEND and URECV internally<br />
for communication with the gateway.<br />

The Gateway GT104CS is capable of processing the cyclic data<br />
exchange between the TELEPERM M automation systems on the<br />
plant bus CS 275 and up to 32 SIMATIC <strong>PCS</strong> 7 automation systems<br />
on the Industrial Ethernet plant bus.<br />
