EXPERIENCE PROFILE<br />

Mark Tobias serves as Project Archeologist in JMA’s Cultural Resources Department. Mr. Tobias has nine<br />

years <strong>of</strong> experience in both historic and prehistoric archeological sites throughout <strong>the</strong> nor<strong>the</strong>astern and<br />

southwestern portions <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> United States. Since joining JMA, Mr. Tobias has conducted numerous Phase<br />

I survey and Phase II evaluations throughout <strong>the</strong> Mid Atlantic region, including a number <strong>of</strong> archeological<br />

data recovery projects, such as Raritan Landing near <strong>New</strong> Brunswick, <strong>New</strong> Jersey, <strong>the</strong> Old <strong>New</strong> <strong>Castle</strong><br />

<strong>Court</strong>house in <strong>New</strong> <strong>Castle</strong>, Delaware, and most recently a prehistoric shell midden site near <strong>the</strong> north shore<br />

<strong>of</strong> Long Island, <strong>New</strong> York. He also utilizes GPS and GIS as a tool in <strong>the</strong> planning, identification, and<br />

management <strong>of</strong> cultural resources. Mr. Tobias is a co-author <strong>of</strong> several presentations at pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />

meetings.<br />
