To reenable the creation of ICMP unreachable messages on the interface, use the following command in<br />

the INTERFACE mode:<br />

Command Syntax Command Mode Purpose<br />

ip unreachable INTERFACE Set FTOS to create and send ICMP unreachable<br />

messages on the interface.<br />

To view if ICMP unreachable messages are sent on the interface, use the show config command in the<br />

INTERFACE mode. If it is not listed in the show config command output, it is enabled. Only nondefault<br />

information is displayed in the show config command output.<br />

enable ICMP redirects<br />

Platform Specific Feature: enable ICMP redirects is supported on E-Series only.<br />

By default, ICMP redirect messages is disabled. When enabled, ICMP redirect messages are created and<br />

sent out all interfaces. To disable ICMP redirect messages, use the no ip redirect command syntax.<br />

To reenable the creation of ICMP redirect messages on the interface, use the following command in the<br />

INTERFACE mode:<br />

UDP Helper<br />

UDP helper allows you to direct the forwarding IP/UDP broadcast traffic by creating special broadcast<br />

addresses and rewriting the destination IP address of packets to match those addresses. Configurations<br />

using this feature are described in the section Configurations Using UDP Helper on page 242.<br />

Configuring UDP Helper<br />

Configuring FTOS to direct UDP broadcast is a two-step process:<br />

1. Enable UDP helper and specify the UDP ports for which traffic is forwarded. See Enabling UDP<br />

Helper on page 241.<br />
