Step Task Command Command Mode 4 Upgrade the boot code using one of the following keywords: • Upgrade the entire system (primary RPM and all line cards) using the keyword all. You must still complete the remainder of this procedure. • Upgrade only the CP processor on the RPM (as required when upgrading the C-Series to FTOS version 7.5.1.0, for example) using the keyword cp. • Upgrade a single line card using the keyword linecard, or all line cards using the keywords linecard all. • Upgrade only the RP processors on the RPM using the keyword rp. • Upgrade the RPM using the keyword rpm. upgrade alt-bootflash-image {all | cp | linecard [all] | rp | rpm} EXEC Privilege Warning: Do not reset or remove the component you are upgrading during the upgrade process. The upgrade process takes approximately 10 minutes. Note: Steps 5 - 9 are not required if you have only one RPM installed. 5 Copy the FTOS image to the internal flash of the standby RPM. copy rpm0flash: rpm1flash: EXEC Privilege 6 Login to the standby RPM. telnet-peer-rpm EXEC Privilege 7 Verify that the FTOS image passed the checksum (look for a “passed” status). 8 Download the new boot code from the new FTOS image. 9 Upgrade the boot code on the standby RPM. Upgrade CP or RP explicitly using the keyword cp or rp if you did so in Step 1.
