To configure the management port IP address:<br />

Configuring a Management Route<br />

Define a path from the system to the network from which you are accessing the system remotely.<br />

Management routes are separate from IP routes and are only used to manage the system via the<br />

management port.<br />

To configure a management route:<br />

interface ManagementEthernet slot/port<br />

• slot range: 0 to 1<br />

• port range: 0<br />

ip address ip-address/mask<br />

• ip-address: an address in dotted-decimal<br />

format (A.B.C.D).<br />

• mask: a subnet mask in /prefix-length<br />

format (/xx).<br />

Configuring a Username and Password<br />

You must configure a system username and password to access the system remotely.<br />
