Sh. Pranay Sahay, an IPS officer<br />

of 1975 batch of Tripura side of<br />

Manipur – Tripura cadre has assumed<br />

the charge of Director General of<br />

CRPF on 18 th October, <strong>2012</strong>. He was<br />

accorded a ceremonial ‘Guard of<br />

Honour’ at the CRPF HQ, Lodhi Road,<br />

New Delhi.<br />

Sh. Sahay, an illustrious police<br />

officer, is primarily responsible for<br />

containment and marginalization of<br />

insurgency in Tripura and has worked<br />

there for over two decades. He came<br />

in for special commendation from<br />

the Election Commission of India<br />

for his clarity, skill and professional<br />

competence in handling all election<br />

related matters in an insurgency<br />

charged environment. He has<br />

served as Chief Vigilance Officer in<br />

Hindustan Zinc Ltd. and in various<br />

capacities in <strong>Central</strong> Armed <strong>Police</strong><br />

<strong>Force</strong>s, including ADG North Zone in<br />

CRPF from December 2007 to July,<br />

2008. He has been decorated with<br />

<strong>Police</strong> Medal for Meritorious Service<br />

in 1992 and President’s <strong>Police</strong> Medal<br />

for Distinguished Service in 1998.<br />
