WARM SEND-OFF TO SH K. VIJAY<br />
KUMAR, DG<br />
Sh. K.Vijay Kumar,DG was given a warm send off upon his<br />
superannuation on 30th September, <strong>2012</strong>. Sh.Kumar was<br />
instrumental in introducing path-breaking reforms in training and<br />
operations of CRPF which ensured glorious successes in Left Wing<br />
Extremism (LWE) areas, including elimination of the Axis-figure of<br />
Naxalism, the dreaded 'Kishenji'. Sh. Kumar had an illustrious police<br />
career of nearly four decades, which saw him shouldering various<br />
responsibilities, with flying colours. He joined CRPF, as DG on 6th<br />
October, 2010.<br />

CALLING<br />
30 girl students from three different schools of Jammu region of J<br />
& K, on a CRPF sponsored tour of historical places of Delhi, Amritsar<br />
and Chandigarh under Civic Action Programme, met Shri Sushil<br />
Kumar Shinde, Hon’ble Union Home Minister at North Block, New<br />
Delhi.<br />
The students from three different schools of Jammu have been to<br />
various historical places in Amritsar. In Delhi, they visited places<br />
like Qutub Minar, India Gate, Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Lotus Temple,<br />
Chandni Chowk. They also visited the Parliament and witnessed the<br />
proceedings there. Earlier, during their tour at Amritsar, they visited<br />
Golden temple, Jalianwala Bagh and Wagah border.<br />
Interacting with the students, the Home Minister advised them to<br />
study properly and serve the nation.<br />
Earlier, the students met Sh. Pranay Sahay, DG at CRPF HQ.The girl<br />
students expressed happiness and said for many of them it was the<br />
first occasion to come out of the state. They thanked CRPF that they<br />
could see for themselves the historical monuments about which<br />
they have only read in text books.<br />
The aim of this tour is to promote harmony between the <strong>Force</strong> and<br />
general public and also to empower girls and women.<br />
