Agent Group ‘Insects’<br />
‘Insects’ were the most frequently detected agent group (32% of all damage types) <strong>in</strong> 2012.<br />
They were observed <strong>in</strong> different <strong>in</strong>tensities throughout <strong>Europe</strong>. On around half of all affected<br />
plots, more than 25% of the trees were damaged by <strong>in</strong>sects. Plots with over 75% of the trees<br />
affected account for nearly 15% of all plots. They are clustered e.g. at the eastern edge of the<br />
Pyrenean Mounta<strong>in</strong>s, Italy and Cyprus (Fig. 3.2.3.1-3).<br />
