Agent Group ‘Abiotic agents’<br />

In 2012, the share of trees with damage caused by “abiotic agents” was 6%. The most frequent<br />

causes were drought, frost/snow, and w<strong>in</strong>d. 79% of all affected plots showed a small<br />

share of damaged trees. Plots with a higher share of damaged trees were found ma<strong>in</strong>ly <strong>in</strong><br />

southern <strong>Europe</strong>. In particular, these plots occurred at the eastern edge of the Pyrenean Mounta<strong>in</strong>s<br />

(Fig. 3.2.3.1-5).<br />
