TO REPORT THE MINUTES OF THE 6 TH MEETING OF
THE RESEARCH COUNCIL HELD ON 13 TH JANUARY,
2005 FOR INFORMATION AND APPROVAL.
ACSC 12.29.1
Prof. S.C.Garg, Pro Vice-Chancellor informed the Members that
the 6th Meeting of the Research Council was held on 13 th
January, 2005. The main recommendations of the Research
Council were:

Ph.D. programmes in English and Hindi.
Recommendations of its Sub-Committee on Ph.D.
programme in Physics and Mathematics.
Recommendations of its Sub-Committee on Ph.D.
programme in History, Economics, Tourism Studies
and Library Science.
Remuneration for Evaluation of Ph.D. thesis.
Continuation of Ph.D. programme for M.Phil. degree
holders.

The Academic Council’s Standing Committee noted the Minutes
(Appendix-12) of the 6 th Meeting of the Research Council.
ITEM NO. 12.30
TO CONSIDER AND APPROVE THE FORMAT OF
DEGREE TO BE AWARDED TO THE STUDENTS OF
DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY (PH.D.) PROGRAMME.
ACSC 12.30.1
The Academic Council’s Standing Committee considered three
alternatives and approved the format of Doctor of Philosophy
(Ph.D.) Degree as placed at Appendix-13.
