Summary of Analysis:
The subject property has six paintball fields and a woodsball area where patrons come to play
paintball. The six fields are surrounded by paintball netting. There is also a small retail store to
cater to the paintball business. This store sells paintball related items. The Land Development
Code (LDC) considers the use of a paintball fields as a Recreation, High Intensity use.
CU 11-05, which was approved by the Planning Commission on April 6, 2011 by a vote of 6/1,
was a request to recognize the non-conforming use and allow for its expansion. CU 11-05 was
appealed in accordance with Section 920.D of the Polk County LDC by neighboring property
owners and was approved by the Board of County Commissioners on July 12, 2011 by a vote of
