Park Facilities:
Allowing the modification to the conditional use will provide residents of Polk County and
neighboring counties opportunity to actively participate in the sport of paintball. While this
particular use is operated by a private business, there are health benefits associated with physical
activities such as paintball.
This site is nowhere near any County park facilities; however, it is within 300’ of the boundary
of the Gator Creek preserve.
Economic Factors:
See Exhibit 6- Economic Analysis conducted by Ryan Pickles with the Polk County Tourism and
Sports Marketing. This Economic analysis was submitted for the original CU 11-05 hearing in
2011.
Consistency with Comprehensive Plan:
The request is consistent with Policy 2.102-A1 thru A15 (Growth Management policies); Policy
2.108-A1 thru A-5 (Rural Development Areas policies); Policy 2.307-A1 thru A5 (Floodplains);
and Policy 2.308-A1 thru A6 (Wetlands).
