2. Guidelines of practice are divided into 3 topics, namely:
Buddhist Philosophy and
Meditation Practice
2.1 Understanding the unwinding of the three roots of unwholesomeness: greed (rga), hatred
(dosa) and delusion (moha) by practicing the 1 st set of caraa decreases rga dosa and gives rise
to the result of the decrese of moha. However, moha has many levels explained as follows:
moha: is avijj or ignorance, the condition without paññ in the gross level. It eclipses the mind,
making it unable to know the path leading to the supra-mundane. However, once rga and dosa are
managed in 1 st set of caraa, moha gradually and continuously dwindles away until the symptoms
of “Awaking knowedge” (jagriynuyoga) arises. Wisdom (paññ) is gradually and accumulatingly
increasing together with this is the the decrease of kmarga and vypda in the 2 nd set of caraa
until it is decreased to merely to vicikicch, doubt or uncertainty in the appraisal of the 3 rd set of
caraa which is obstructed to the progress to jhna, i.e., completely burning off kilesa in the end.
