2012 <strong>Town</strong> Meeting Deliberative Session<br />
ARTICLE 3<br />
To see if the <strong>Town</strong> will vote to raise and appropriate the sum <strong>of</strong> Twelve Million, Two Hundred Sixty<br />
Three, Five Hundred Seventy One Dollars ($ 12,263,571) for the necessary operational expenses <strong>of</strong> the<br />
<strong>Town</strong> for the ensuing year’s budget. This amount does not include all <strong>of</strong> the amounts raised and<br />
appropriated in subsequent warrant articles.<br />
(Recommended by the Board <strong>of</strong> Selectmen 4 - 0)<br />
Peter Brothers motioned to approve Article 3 as proposed, seconded by Miller Lovett.<br />
David Sticht asked about the School Facilities Maintenance Fund and why is this account never used. It<br />
was explained that the <strong>Town</strong> holds this for the School and we do not control it. Lou Kahn, explained that<br />
this fund is required <strong>of</strong> the School District to “park” it with the Trustee <strong>of</strong> Trust funds and does not get<br />
appropriated.<br />
With a show <strong>of</strong> Voter Cards, Article 3 passed.<br />
ARTICLE 4<br />
To see if the <strong>Town</strong> will vote to designate New Road in the Chemung area <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Meredith</strong><br />
as a Scenic Road under the authority <strong>of</strong> RSA 231:157. New Road is located within the <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Meredith</strong>.<br />

Miller Lovett motioned to approve Article 4 as proposed, seconded by Nate Torr.<br />
Philip Warren explained that this should have been included in the original designation many years ago<br />
and this was brought forth to have this included. John Rogers reiterated what Phil Watten stated and<br />
supports this Article.<br />
With a show <strong>of</strong> voter cards Article 4 passed<br />
ARTICLE 5<br />
To see if the <strong>Town</strong> will vote to raise and appropriate the sum <strong>of</strong> Sixty Thousand Dollars ($60,000)<br />
to improve various town roads that are eligible for 2 to 1 matching funds from the State Aid<br />
Reconstruction Program, contingent upon the receipt <strong>of</strong> Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000) <strong>of</strong> that amount<br />
from the State, with the balance <strong>of</strong> Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000) to be raised by taxation.<br />
(Recommended by the Board <strong>of</strong> Selectmen 4 - 0)<br />
Nate Torr motioned to approve Article 5 as proposed, seconded by Herb Vadney.<br />
With a show <strong>of</strong> voter cards, Article 5 passed.<br />
