The Community Center has provided a wonderful gathering place for our community and for people of all ages
to play, socialize, learn, make decisions, and plan for our future needs. We look forward to working together
with the community to help meet the demand and make the Community Center available to as many different
user groups as reasonably possible. SUCCEEDING IN TOUGH ECONOMIC TIMES: THANK YOU
SPONSORS & STAFF! We are very proud to report that the Parks and Recreation Department realized a
14% increase in revenues in 2012.
As the Parks and Recreation Department faced its second major budget reduction in the last three years, we
were faced with the loss of funding for all of our family events that had been offered to our community free of
charge for many years. The events facing elimination were 4 th of July Concert, Street Dance, Easter Egg Hunt,
Family Fun Night, Fall Family Fun Fest, Tree Lighting/Holiday Open House, Family Skating Party, and
Movies in the Park. Thanks to the efforts of our Program Director, Sarah Perkins, Parks and Recreation
Department staff members as a whole, and through generous support from our local merchants, civic groups,
and private citizens nearly all of these long standing programs were successfully held. In addition, enrollment
in core programs such as the After School Program and Summer Camp Can Do were at an all time high. This
is an accomplishment that we are very proud of and at the same time we are very appreciative of the generous
sponsorships that we received making it all possible. I would like to acknowledge the following people/
agencies for their support:
