ES-335 Dot
The ES-335 Dot has found its way into
the hands of countless rock, country,
and blues heavyweights. This unassuming
beauty electrified the guitar world in the late '50s and
quickly became a favorite axe for all styles of music. The reissue
faithfully recreates the original body design of the ES-335, combining it with a 22-fret
slim-taper mahogany 1960-style neck, a plain maple body, cream binding, and nickel
hardware. Vintage-toned ‘57 Classic humbuckers provide the classic sound that made the
335 a classic to begin with.
Satin Finish
In this variation on a theme from the Gibson Custom
Shop, the ES-335 Satin Finish is constructed using plain
laminated maple for the top, back, and sides — a move that
offers players the legendary tone and feel of a ‘60s ES-335, but keeps the cost down. Like
you’d expect from a 335, a pair of ‘57 Classic humbuckers provide tone that’s warm and
thick with just the right amout of bite.
Dave Grohl DG-335
A new addition to Gibson’s Inspired By Series is the Dave
Grohl DG-335. Grohl surprised everyone when he
stepped out from behind the drumkit after the demise of
Nirvana to write and record the Foo Fighters’ first album.
The thick, harmonically rich tones of the first
Foo record instantly cemented Grohl as a guitar
hero. Now, some 12 years later, Grohl and the
other Fighters of Foo are still going strong,
churning out power-pop rooted by Dave’s stellar
songwriting. Based on Dave’s beloved Gibson Trini
Lopez guitar, this ES-335-style guitar boasts
diamond-shaped f-holes and a non-reverse
Firebird-style headstock to create a truly
unique instrument. A pair of Burstbucker
pickups deliver powerful tones that are
instantly recognizeable.Only 300 DG-335s
will be produced, so call today to reserve
this tribute to a modern rock hero.
Orbison 335
Following the massive success of the 70th
anniversary Roy Orbison 335 in 2006 (which sold
out in two hours!), the Custom Shop returns with another
limited run. Roy’s original was made in Nashville in 1982. He
had modified his guitar with a T-P6 tailpiece for fine tuning. Gibson has accurately
reproduced this guitar with a slightly aged look to the lacquer, making its appearance
ES-137 Classic
The ES-137 Classic combines two classics
— the look of Gibson’s single-cutaway semi-hollowbody
guitars and the hot sound of a Gibson Les Paul Classic. The 490R
Modern Classic pickup features tonal characteristics similar to the ‘57
Classic, but delivers a slight increase in the upper mids, and the 498T, with
its higher output and emphasis on mid-ranges and highs, is the perfect rock pickup.
The ES-137’s 16" body is beautifully crafted with curly laminated maple with multi-ply
cream binding, and its 22-fret neck is 3-piece maple.
Color: Heritage Cherry Burst.
