The Fender Custom Shop is celebrating 20 years of building dream guitars for the cream of the guitar crop. From faithful
reproductions of classic axes of the past to fully tweaked customs built to an individual’s personal specifi cations, few instruments
command the level of respect afforded Fender Custom Shop models. There are two different degrees of Fender Custom Shop models:
Stock Team-built and Team-built Custom. Stock Team-built instruments are handcrafted by an elite team of veteran builders
and offer a series of stock instruments that incorporate the Custom Shop’s most requested features and confi gurations of
the past few years. With a Team-built Custom guitar, you can pick and choose any feature you want. If you can dream it,
they can build it! A select few instruments — known as Masterbuilt instruments — are handbuilt by the Master Luthiers,
the same luthiers that build custom instruments for the likes of Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, and Merle Haggard.
Stratocaster Pro
The folks at the Fender Custom shop crafted a beautiful Strat that’s
made for the pro player. The Stratocaster Pro’s select alder body
and “C”-shaped maple neck offer that classic Strat feel, with a
difference: this instrument includes a special neck heel that
was previously available only on theJeff Beck Signature
Stratocaster. You also get a big-peg headstock, Custom
Classic tremolo, locking tuners, and a roller nut — this
axe is built from the ground up to stay in tune during even
the wildest gigs. The Stratocaster Pro also includes Fender’s
own Greasebucket tone circuit and incredible Samarian
Cobalt Noiseless pickups, which give you the Strat
tone you want without the 60-cycle hum. This guitar
gets Fenders’s “Closet Classic” treatment, which
imparts the appearance of a classic, slightly used
instrument.

George Fullerton
1957 Strat & Pro Jr.
Fender is issuing the George Fullerton 50th
Anniversary 1957 Stratocaster with a Relic’d Pro
Jr. amp to mark a special milestone in the history of the
Stratocaster. The Strat was actually born in 1954, but the
Stratocaster really hit its stride in 1957, hence the release
of a 50th Anniversary set. This unique combo pays tribute
to George Fullerton — a founding father of this landmark
instrument — with a 3-piece blade-cut alder
body Stratocaster sporting a 2-color sunburst
lacquer finish. The pickups are hand-wound by
Abigail Ybarra, and the amp is a 15-watt all-tube
Pro Jr. with tweed covering. This is a limited run

Rory Gallagher
Tribute Stratocaster
Irish guitar phenom Rory Gallagher is remembered with this replica
of his 1961 worn-to-the-wood Strat. The Rory Gallagher Tribute
Stratocaster is loaded with “one-off” appointments that
make this a truly unique instrument. Among the novelties
on this axe are a mismatched Gotoh tuner (the other five
are Sperzel) and a white plastic 12th-fret dot marker instead
of the original clay dot. Aged plastic parts, a bone nut, and
custom-wound ’60s single-coil pickups round out this tribute
to a guitar master.

a “C”-shape maple neck with a smaller truss rod, slab laminated
rosewood fingerboard, and clay position dots. The pickups are
designed to be as accurate to the 1960 originals as possible in
regard to the materials used and the number of windings, producing
the classic, glassy Stratocaster tones we all know and love.
This is a great guitar that represents the sound of rock n’ roll’s
infancy, and the finish is aged for a vintage look.
