The Brent Mason Signature model ’s body is swamp ash, a bright
wood with a clear, tight focus. It has a quick attack, great rock rhythm
sounds, and country twang for miles! A maple neck and fingerboard impart a clean,
crisp tonality. The Mason features a mini-humbucker in the neck position , while a
Duncan Classic Stack with coil tap (middle) and Lead Stack (bridge) handle the brighter,
twangy chores. Satin chrome locking Sperzel tuners and a chrome hardtail bridge add
the finishing touches.

The brilliantly finished HP Special CT USA is the
ultimate refinement of the playability, tone, style, and technology
born of Peavey’s 40 years of experience. It features an offset basswood
body with a sculpted neck joint, a bound, figured maple arch top, and an oil-finished,
highly figured, 22-fret, asymmetrical birdseye maple neck. Also onboard: two customwound
HP Special humbucking pickups with coil taps, die-cast Schaller machine heads,
a Floyd Rose double-locking tremolo, and Peavey’s Lok Block system, which sets the trem
to “down” only or fully floating.

The Variax 700 houses its remarkable electronics in a carved-top
ash-over-mahogany body (translucent colors) or carved-top
solid mahogany body (black), with a 1-piece maple
neck and rosewood fingerboard, bone nut, and
pearl inlays, plus Gotoh tuners and a custom
L.R. Baggs tremolo bridge. Variax connects
directly into any guitar amp to produce its
25 exacting models, which include classic
solidbody single-coil and humbucking sounds,
the thick hollowbody tone of a jazz guitar , and
classic steel-string dreadnoughts and specialty
instruments such as banjo, resonators, Dobro,
and even a sitar .
