Custom Series The Custom Series holds a special place in the PRS line. It was the very first production guitar built in the original Annapolis, Maryland shop on Virginia Avenue. Paul Reed Smith took the Custom 24 to his first trade show in 1985, and it’s still the core of the PRS line. It still comes with the patented PRS tremolo bridge, locking tuners, and the beautifully carved, figured maple top that is a PRS hallmark. Today, PRS actually builds two versions of the Custom: The Custom 24 features 24 frets with HFS bridge and Vintage neck pickups. The first major change to the PRS Custom model came in 1993 with the introduction of the Custom 22, which was, in effect, a production version of the company’s upscale Dragon guitar. The Custom 22 shipped with Dragon II pickups, a wide-fat neck carve and came standard with a stop tailpiece, 5-way rotary pickup selector, and pearl and abalone moon inlays. A PRS tremolo and a wide-thin neck carve are nocost options. Upgrades include premium grade flame or quilt maple tops and abalone bird inlays. The PRS Custom series guitars perform flawlessly to deliver an evenness of tonal color, amplitude, and feel, no matter where you are on the fingerboard. CE Series During the music explosion of the ‘70s, guitar makers were rushing to produce enough guitars to meet demands. Due to sloppy procedures, the bolt-on neck got a bad rap — when executed properly, the bolt-on design provides excellent tonal transfer and ease of repair. That’s what makes the CE 22 such an outstanding value and exceptional instrument. Paul Reed Smith is known for using innovative, quality construction techniques while respecting the history of the instrument; he put this combination to good use in the design of this guitar. The CE 22 is a true player’s guitar, with a full tone, incredible finish, and comfortable neck shape. A beautiful carved figured maple top is paired with a mahogany back, while the bolt-on 25"-scale rock maple neck sports a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. The CE 22 is capable of a wide range of great tones, thanks in part to Dragon II bass and treble humbucking pickups with a rotary selector. A PRS tremolo and locking tuners round out the features on the great-sounding, amazing-looking CE 22. Color: Black Cherry, Emerald Green. Call for more options. ONLY $82/mo.
