The Config Files Configuration files are usually found in /etc/ldap or /etc/openldap The primary server configuration file is slapd.conf Schema is stored in seperate text files Schema files are `included' into slapd.conf OpenLDAP 1.x slapd.at.conf - Attribute schema slapd.oc.conf - Object schema OpenLDAP 2.x Schema is stored in a collection of schema files, usually found in /etc/ldap/schema or /etc/openldap/schema Schema files are named after their purpose or the RFC which created them.
