Tour the Nissan automobile assembly plant near Yokohama for a firsthand look at a world class automotive
assembly operation, one of the most advanced anywhere. Production is for domestic markets and export from a
nearby distribution center. Witness ―Lean Operations‖ and the Japanese obsession with quality as this flexible
manufacturing facility builds some of the newest models in Nissan’s portfolio.
This FDP will be useful for business classes in international business, international operations, international
marketing and for those learning about labor practices in other countries.

YOK15 JAPANESE HOME VISIT – GROUP B (TBA, Tuesday, 23 November) Minimum 4/Maximum 4
(PRICE: $29+ OOPEX)
The primary purpose of this home visit, sponsored by a Yokohama volunteer organization, is to give you an
opportunity to experience daily life in Japan by spending a few hours with a Japanese family. You will have a
chance for in-depth personal and intellectual exchanges with your hosts. You will be met at the ship by your host
family. Out-of-pocket expenses may range from ¥1,500 to ¥2,500 (approximately US $15-$25) to cover expenses
incurred during the day. Please remember to take a small gift to your host family (possibly a box of sweets or a
memento from your home city or school). Please note: Out of respect to the host families, cancellations will not
be acceptable.
