«ProfIC 7 – Cation» – Professional IC system with<br />
inline dilution and dialysis<br />
Professional IC system for the fully automatic determination<br />
of cations or anions (non-suppressed) present in<br />
high concentrations and also in a very critical matrix.<br />
Emulsions, samples containing fats and proteins or<br />
strongly polluted wastewater are not always compatible<br />
with ion chromatography, even after an initial filtration<br />
step. This is why «ProfIC 7» is equipped with the<br />
inline dialysis system patented by Metrohm (European<br />
Patent 0 820 804, US-Patent 5,861,097).<br />
In this way it is possible to determine anions and cations<br />
even in cutting oil emulsions, dairy products or<br />
body fluids such as blood and urine.<br />
«ProfIC 7» also offers the possibility of automatic inline<br />
dilution of the sample. This takes place at an external<br />
position of the 858 Professional Sample Processor. In<br />
combination with a transfer tubing, the 800 Dosino<br />
carries out the high-precision liquid handling steps.<br />
The intelligent MagIC Net software controls both the<br />
dialysis and the dilution steps. MagIC Net carries out<br />
all calculations, so that only the dilution factor needs<br />
to be entered in the sample table. In addition, the<br />
software provides intelligent dilution, i.e. dilution takes<br />
place automatically depending on the predefined concentration<br />
limits. The software monitors the results and<br />
makes logical decisions.<br />
