«ProfIC 10 – Anion» – Professional IC system<br />
with inline sample preconcentration, matrix<br />
elimination and matrix neutralization<br />
Professional IC system for the determination of anions<br />
in difficult matrices. «ProfIC 10» with Metrohm inline<br />
sample preconcentration, matrix neutralization and<br />
matrix elimination allows chromatography unaffected<br />
by matrix influences and guarantees that the analytical<br />
column has a long lifetime.<br />
A small volume of the sample is transferred fully automatically<br />
to the preconcentration column. On its way it<br />
passes through the sample preparation module, where<br />
complete cation exchange takes place. This means<br />
that it is possible to neutralize both acids and bases.<br />
The matrix is then removed from the preconcentration<br />
column in a rinsing step and the clean and pH-neutral<br />
sample injected to the IC system.<br />
For liquid handling the 858 Professional Sample Processor<br />
– Pump – Injector is equipped with an additional<br />
valve. An additional peristaltic pump transfers the sample<br />
and rinsing solutions. The intelligent MagIC Net<br />
software controls and monitors the system.<br />
«ProfIC 10» is equipped with sequential suppression.<br />
Very high sensitivity is achieved by this unique combination<br />
of chemical and downstream CO 2<br />
suppression.<br />
The flexibility of the carbonate eluent is complemented<br />
by the low background conductivity of a hydroxide eluent.<br />
With the preconcentration technique, carbonate<br />
interference is practically eliminated.<br />

The 858 Professional Sample Processor – Pump – Injector<br />
is responsible for sample delivery. Numerous sample<br />
racks for volumes 0.5...500 mL are available. Only<br />
small sample volumes of about 1 mL are normally<br />
required for matrix elimination and neutralization.<br />
«ProfIC 10» features intelligent system components<br />
such as the iPump and the iDetector and provides<br />
space for a total of three iColumns.<br />
