15. Remove the end plate assembly<br />

from the vise.<br />

Booster Body Assembly<br />

1. Insert a new booster body seal<br />

in the groove of the end plate. Make<br />

sure the seal is properly seated.<br />

2. Apply a light coat of vacuum<br />

cylinder oil to the inner walls of the<br />

booster body assembly. Do not use<br />

engine oil.<br />

3. Insert the booster piston assembly<br />

in the booster body, wick end<br />

first, being careful not (to damage or<br />

roll over the leather lip. Remove the<br />

assembly ring.<br />

4. Assemble the booster body to<br />

the end plate assembly by placing the<br />

body over the return spring. Line up<br />

the booster body-to-end plate alignment<br />

marks. Secure the body to the<br />

end plate using two short bolts at<br />

each upper end of the body assembly.<br />

5. Install the four remaining bolts.<br />

Tighten each bolt evenly until all<br />

bolts are uniformly tight.<br />

6. Adjust the length of the hydraulic<br />

cylinder to V/a inches, meas-<br />

ured from the outer end of the hydraulic<br />

cylinder end cap to the facing<br />

surface of the end plate assembly<br />

(Fig. 8).<br />

7. Align the bleeder screw on the<br />

hydraulic cylinder end fitting with<br />

the bleeder screw on the end plate<br />

assembly. Tighten the lock nut securely.<br />

8. Install the fitting bolt and gasket<br />

into the end of the hydraulic<br />

cylinder end cap.<br />

Booster Control Body<br />

1. Place a new seal on the adapter.<br />

Position the small end of the<br />

spring in the body bore, over the<br />

poppet valve stem, and install the<br />

adapter.<br />

2. Remove the body from the<br />

vise.<br />

3. Place the diaphragm washer in<br />

the recess of the end plate assembly,<br />

with the flat side facing outward.<br />

4. Position the diaphragm return<br />

spring and diaphragm assembly in<br />

the booster control body.<br />

5. Position the booster control<br />

body on the end plate. Align the diaphragm<br />

holes and the control bodyto-end<br />

plate alignment marks. Install<br />

the six bolts and lock washers and<br />

tighten them securely.<br />

6. Install a new seal on the control<br />

body end of the air control tube.<br />

Connect the air control tube to the<br />

booster control body and to the<br />

booster body assembly.
