The Women’s Grass Hockey Club<br />

HIS year has proved the most successful the Women’s Grass Hockey<br />
Club has ever known, chiefly because <strong>of</strong> the enthusiasm and energy<br />
displayed by the girls. Although, through lack <strong>of</strong> a Varsity playing<br />
field, they have had to go all the way to Connaught Park for practices,<br />
over thirty girls have turned out faithfully. The Women’s Lower Main<br />
land League, an experiment last year, is now definitely established, and<br />
seven teams are competing for the cup. Marjorie McKay, Education ‘31,<br />
is the president, and deserves a hearty vote <strong>of</strong> thanks for her unceasing<br />
efforts on behalf <strong>of</strong> the League and the Varsity teams.<br />
We were very pleased to welcome many new players this year,<br />
among them several Education siudents. It was hoped that a beginner’s<br />
team would be formed, but unfortunately it was too late in the year to<br />
arrange games. Perhaps this will be accomplished next year.<br />
The most enjoyable event <strong>of</strong> the season was a trip to Duncan, which<br />
it is hoped will be an annual feature. A Women’s and Men’s team went<br />
