HERBERT WARNER ELLIS<br />
Bert signed up with the Aggie Freshmen in<br />
1927, and after a year’s probation decided that he<br />
had the makings <strong>of</strong> a first—class poultry expert. He<br />
was a member <strong>of</strong> the Badminton Club, and for the<br />
last year has been vice-president <strong>of</strong> Aggie ‘31. We<br />
can always count on Bert as an enthusiastic sup<br />
porter <strong>of</strong> social functions,<br />
ROLPHE MAURICE FORSYTH<br />
Rolphe came to Agriculture from Colombian<br />
College. His aim in life is to own a championship<br />
herd <strong>of</strong> Jersey tattle. He is no mean judge <strong>of</strong> cows,<br />
as he was on the team that represented the U.B.C.<br />
at Portland last term. However cow-judging has not<br />
taken up all his energy. Rolfe has found time to<br />
play on the Intermediate English Rugby team and<br />
was a member <strong>of</strong> the Aggie Relay team last year.<br />
He is also a member <strong>of</strong> the Players’ Club.<br />
NORMAN HARRY INGLEDEW<br />
Norm, one <strong>of</strong> the most quiet and reserved boys<br />
on the campus, is really an Aggie. He played Eng<br />
lish rugby in the first and second years, but since<br />
than has been too occupied with various experiments<br />
in the manufacture <strong>of</strong> butter and cheese to give<br />
much thought to athletics. In his last year he was<br />
a member <strong>of</strong> the Dairy Products team at the Pacific<br />
International, and was also the president <strong>of</strong> the Class<br />
<strong>of</strong> Agriculture ‘31.<br />

THOMAS ALBERT LEACH<br />
Tommy has been one <strong>of</strong> the most active mem<br />
bers <strong>of</strong> the Class <strong>of</strong> ‘31. President <strong>of</strong> Aggie ‘31 for<br />
first three years, vice-president <strong>of</strong> the Agricultural<br />
Undergrad., president <strong>of</strong> the Agricultural Discussion<br />
Club in his fourth year, and member <strong>of</strong> the Dairy<br />
Products team at the Pacific International Exhibition.<br />
His chief interest lies in watching calves succumb<br />
to the effects <strong>of</strong> pilchard oil.<br />
MICHAEL ISADORE LERNER<br />
Mike was born in China and came to B.C. in<br />
1927. In his Freshman year he won the David Thom<br />
Scholarship for Pr<strong>of</strong>iciency. Poultry, genetics and<br />
biometry have claimed his special attention, both in<br />
course work and in research for the Poultry Depart<br />
ment. He served as treasurer <strong>of</strong> the Agriculture<br />
Undergraduate Society and was twice on the winning<br />
team in Agriculture Inter-class Debates. Next year,<br />
we hope to have him back again taking further re<br />
search work.<br />
