<strong>CAM</strong> <strong>CLUTCH</strong> BOX (high-speed continuous running applications)<br />

The Cam Clutch Box Series is a Cam Clutch designed within a case that uses an ideal lubrication method to<br />

enable continuous high-speed operation. Cam Clutch Boxes are available in seven different types consisting of<br />

different combinations of lubrication systems, cooling systems, and auxiliary reducers.<br />

Installation and Usage<br />

1. Pre-Installation:<br />

a. Check that the unit has not been damaged<br />

during shipment.<br />

b. Verify the specified rotational direction of every<br />

shaft.<br />

c. Do not apply impact shocks to the shaft when<br />

installing couplings.<br />

2. Installation:<br />

In order to prevent vibrations which can result from<br />

misalignment, make sure that the foundation where<br />

the Cam Clutch Box will be mounted is completely<br />

flat and rigid. Alignment tolerances of coupled<br />

shafts should be within 0.03 mm T.I.R. (Total<br />

Indication Reading). Recheck this specification after<br />

the installation is complete.<br />

3. Lubrication:<br />

Fill the Cam Clutch Box with the recommended<br />

lubricant up to the mark shown by the oil level<br />

gauge.<br />

4. Maintenance:<br />

Change the oil after the initial test run before putting<br />

the Cam Clutch Box into service, and change the oil<br />

every six months thereafter. Shut down the system<br />

before changing the oil. Procedure is 1) Drain the<br />

oil, 2) use flushing oil to clean the Cam Clutch Box,<br />

and 3) fill with fresh oil.<br />

5. Note for OB-SF Series.<br />

a. If you need to cool the OB-SF Series, run cold<br />

water (less then 35°C) through the cooling fin<br />

tubes at a rate of 10 liters per minute.<br />

b. To make inspection easier, the OB-SF series is<br />

equipped with a drag brake which prevents the<br />

system from turning the shaft by drag torque .<br />

Refer to operating manual for brake operating<br />

procedure.<br />

6. Please refer to the installation manual for the<br />

specific unit for more detailed information.<br />
