22.1 Troubleshooting <strong>Lustre</strong><br />

To effectively debug <strong>Lustre</strong>, you need to review the <strong>Lustre</strong> error messages and logs.<br />

22.1.1 <strong>Lustre</strong> Error Messages<br />

As <strong>Lustre</strong> code runs on the kernel, single-digit error codes display to the application;<br />

these error codes are an indication of the problem. Refer to the kernel console log<br />

(dmesg) for all recent kernel messages from that node. On the node,<br />

/var/log/messages holds a log of all messages for at least the past day.<br />
