32.2 tunefs.lustre
The tunefs.lustre utility modifies configuration information on a Lustre target disk.
Synopsis
tunefs.lustre [options] device
Description
tunefs.lustre is used to modify configuration information on a Lustre target
disk. This includes upgrading old (pre-Lustre 1.6) disks. This does not reformat the
disk or erase the target information, but modifying the configuration information
can result in an unusable filesystem.
Caution – Changes made here affect a filesystem when the target is mounted the
next time.
Options
The various tunefs.lustre options are listed and explained below.
Option
Description
--comment=comment
--dryrun
--erase-params
--failnode=nid,...
Sets a user comment about this disk, ignored by Lustre.
Only prints what would be done; does not affect the disk.
Removes all previous parameter information.
Sets the NID(s) of a failover partner. This option can be repeated as needed.
--fsname=filesystem_name
The Lustre filesystem of which this service will be a part. The default filesystem
name is “lustre”.
