Introduction This document provides data collection and operational protocols for acoustical surveys at the Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC). This document is arranged as follows. Centerspecific background is given to provide information on AFSC personnel and general support. Four method categories are defined: system calibration and performance, volume backscattering measurements, target strength, and sampling (survey) design.
