Left, the Eastman 16mm. Projector,
Model 25, brings I6mm. projection
to the professional level.
Shown here, adaptedfor arc illumination,
permanently installed
alongside 35mm. equipment.
Below, working parts of the film movement
mechanism are in constant view of
the operator . . . readily accessible for
threading and cleaning.
The Kodak Projection
Ektar Lens, in a
choice of four focal
lengths, insures superior
screen image.
This projection instrument—built to a
new design concept—eliminates the
three major obstacles to theatrical quality
I6mm. sound projection . . . excessive
wear and high maintenance cost;
low signal-to-noise ratio; and excessive
flutter.
A major cause of excessive wear and
poor quality sound is the constant transfer
of shock forces generated in the film
pulldown mechanism to other parts of
the system. In the Eastman I6mm. Projector,
Model 25, the intermittent (film
advance mechanism) is completely isolated
and independently driven by its
own 1440 r.p.m. synchronous motor.
Thus, shock forces are sealed off from
the rest of the instrument. The sprocketshutter
system is driven by its own 1800
r.p.m. synchronous motor. Exact phasing
between the two systems is accomplished
by specially designed synchromesh
gears. In addition, the take-up
spindle, rewind spindle, and blower are
driven by separate motors.
A highly corrected microscope objective,
adjustable for optimum sound
quality from any type of 16mm. sound
film, permits reproduction of variable
area or variable density I6mm. sound
tracks at extremely low distortion and
a maximum signal-to-noise ratio.
To get the best out of any I6mm.
sound film, project it on an Eastman
I6mm. Projector, Model 25. For information
