Sunday School Curriculum <strong>Grade</strong> 1<br />
Annianus <strong>the</strong> shoemaker mended St. Mark’s sandal but <strong>the</strong> needle pierce his hand while mending<br />
<strong>the</strong> sandal and he cried “O God <strong>the</strong> One”. The apostle put some mud on his finger and he was healed<br />
at once.<br />
What did St. Mark do?<br />
What happened to <strong>the</strong> shoemaker?<br />
What is his name?<br />
How did St. mark heal him?<br />
The shoemaker was amazed to hear St. mark speaking about Christ and to be healed by <strong>the</strong> power<br />
<strong>of</strong> Christ. St. Mark told him about many miracles performed by Christ. The shoemaker and his<br />
household believed and Annianus was ordained a bishop. Subsequently, Christianity spread<br />
throughout Egypt and Christians grew in number.<br />
Why did Annianus believe?<br />
Speak about some miracle performed by Lord Jesus Christ.<br />
Conclusion:<br />
As <strong>the</strong> Lord was with St. Mark in his service and helped him because he was honest and sincere,<br />
<strong>the</strong> Lord will also be with us if we are honest and sincere.<br />
Applications:<br />
Encourage <strong>the</strong> children to visit those who are absent and who have not come to Sunday<br />
School.<br />
You may sing a hymn <strong>of</strong> glorification for St. Mark and <strong>the</strong> children can walk in <strong>the</strong><br />
procession (circuit) holding lit candles.<br />
Continue memorizing ano<strong>the</strong>r part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> agpeya prayer ”Have mercy on me...O Lord..”<br />
