Week 3 - The Angel Brings Good News to St. Mary<br />
Objective:<br />
Rejoice with <strong>the</strong> church and cooperate with her in <strong>the</strong> preparations for Christmas<br />
Memory Verse:<br />
“Blessed are you among woman” (Luke 1:28)<br />

Introductions:<br />
Review <strong>the</strong> previous lesson and verse with <strong>the</strong> students<br />
Prepare <strong>the</strong> following visual aids:<br />
Bring two wings for a child to put on and play <strong>the</strong> part <strong>of</strong> an angel.<br />
Choose a little girl to play <strong>the</strong> part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Virgin.<br />
The servant speaks about <strong>the</strong> angel while <strong>the</strong> children act.<br />
Prepare <strong>the</strong> clo<strong>the</strong>s and <strong>the</strong> tools necessary for <strong>the</strong> virgin, Joseph, and <strong>the</strong> angel and<br />
distribute <strong>the</strong> parts (a wing, white shawl, cloths, a strong light, etc).<br />
Lesson Outlines:<br />
One day <strong>the</strong> virgin saw a bright light around her. Suddenly, a beautiful Angel called Gabriel<br />
appeared to her. He said to her “Hail to you, highly favored one, <strong>the</strong> Lord is with you”. St. Mary was<br />
surprised and was wondering that she is looking at an angel. The angel Gabriel comforted her and<br />
told her that he is bringing a great message and good news. Then he told her that she is going to carry<br />
<strong>the</strong> baby Jesus Christ in her belly for nine months. He said that <strong>the</strong> Holy Spirit is going to fill her and<br />
she is going to be <strong>the</strong> Mo<strong>the</strong>r <strong>of</strong> God because <strong>of</strong> her simplicity and meekness. The Virgin believed<br />
<strong>the</strong> words <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> angel and said:“I am <strong>the</strong> Lord’s handmaid”. This means I am <strong>the</strong> Lord’s servant. The<br />
Virgin rejoiced, knelt down in worship, and thanked <strong>the</strong> Lord. The angel also told her that her relative<br />
Elizabeth is also pregnant and has been carrying <strong>the</strong> baby John in her belly for six months. St. Mary<br />
was also very happy for her relative Elizabeth. After <strong>the</strong> angel Gabriel left St. Mary, she immediately<br />
went to her relative Elizabeth to help her during her pregnancy.<br />
The story can be presented through acting at <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> lesson. The virgin prays; a light in<br />
front <strong>of</strong> her, a Bible on <strong>the</strong> table, calm music, and if possible, <strong>the</strong> angel enters (accompanied by a<br />
bright light). The Virgin is wondering. She does not speak, and <strong>the</strong>n she expresses joy and<br />
