Sunday School Curriculum <strong>Grade</strong> 1<br />
The donkey was tired and it fell to <strong>the</strong> ground and Balaam fell over it. The donkey said, “Why do<br />
you strike me? What have I done?” Balaam answered saying, “Because you did not move so that I<br />
may go and curse those people”. The donkey said, “I always obey you, I have never done what I have<br />
done just now”.<br />
Only at that moment Balaam saw <strong>the</strong> angel holding a sword and dressed in white. Balaam knelt<br />
down before <strong>the</strong> angel and realized that he had made a mistake because he wanted to curse o<strong>the</strong>rs. He<br />
apologized to <strong>the</strong> donkey and brought it some clover and water and <strong>the</strong> donkey became happy and<br />
forgave Balaam and <strong>the</strong>y went happily back home.<br />

God made Balaam’s donkey speak because it saw <strong>the</strong> angel with <strong>the</strong> sword, which Balaam could<br />
