Prepare some pictures <strong>of</strong> queens<br />
Ask <strong>the</strong> students if <strong>the</strong>y know <strong>the</strong> name <strong>of</strong> a queen<br />
How does a queen dress?<br />
What do <strong>the</strong>y put on <strong>the</strong>ir heads?<br />
Lesson Outlines:<br />
Once upon a time <strong>the</strong>re was a great king his name was king Ahasueres. He had a beautiful wife her<br />
name was Queen Vashti. King Ahasueres had a big party for all <strong>the</strong> people working in his kingdom.<br />
During <strong>the</strong> party king Ahasueres served food and drinks in golden plates and cups in his wonderful<br />
palace. After all <strong>the</strong> people ate and drank and were very happy in <strong>the</strong> kings party, King Ahasueres<br />
asked his wife queen Vashti to dress in her pretty dress and shiny jewels and to come to show her<br />
beauty to all <strong>the</strong> visitors in his party. But queen Vashti refused to do what <strong>the</strong> king requested. The<br />
king became very angry and decided that she would not be queen anymore and that he will choose<br />
ano<strong>the</strong>r beautiful girl to be queen instead <strong>of</strong> her.<br />
So, it was announced that all <strong>the</strong> beautiful girls should come and prepare <strong>the</strong>mselves to appear in<br />
front <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> king. The king <strong>the</strong>n will choose <strong>the</strong> most beautiful girl to be a queen. So, all <strong>the</strong> pretty<br />
girls came and one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m was Es<strong>the</strong>r. Es<strong>the</strong>r had no fa<strong>the</strong>r or mo<strong>the</strong>r but she was very pretty. Her<br />
uncle Mordecai took care <strong>of</strong> her and when he heard <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> king’s announcement, he brought her for<br />
<strong>the</strong> king’s selection.<br />
