Week 4 – The Angel and <strong>the</strong> Shepherds<br />
Objective:<br />
To feel <strong>the</strong> joy <strong>of</strong> nativity which fills <strong>the</strong> heaven and earth.<br />
Memory Verse:<br />
“I bring you good tidings <strong>of</strong> great joy” (Luke 2:10).<br />
“Glory to God in <strong>the</strong> highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men” (Luke 2:14)<br />

Introduction<br />
Prepare <strong>the</strong> following visual aids:<br />

Wings -White clo<strong>the</strong>s - a bright light.<br />
Pictures <strong>of</strong> sheep or models <strong>of</strong> sheep. The Shepherd’s staff, broken wood, a jug <strong>of</strong><br />
water.<br />
A flute for singing hymns.<br />
Make <strong>the</strong> manger from a brown paper and a box. Put <strong>the</strong> beautiful picture <strong>of</strong> Nativity<br />
in <strong>the</strong> box.<br />
Prepare <strong>the</strong> procession <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> feast (roses, candles, white shawls).<br />
Review <strong>the</strong> previous lesson and verse with <strong>the</strong> students.<br />
Give an idea about <strong>the</strong> shepherds, <strong>the</strong>ir life and how <strong>the</strong>y care for <strong>the</strong> sheep. They live in<br />
tents, <strong>the</strong>y guard <strong>the</strong> sheep, and <strong>the</strong>y light <strong>the</strong> broken pieces <strong>of</strong> wood for heat - <strong>the</strong> sheep’s<br />
love for <strong>the</strong> shepherd. They sleep in peace.<br />
Lesson Outlines:<br />
The shepherds go out every morning to <strong>the</strong> pastures (a place full <strong>of</strong> grass and water). They take <strong>the</strong><br />
sheep with <strong>the</strong>m. The sheep play and eat.<br />
The shepherd with <strong>the</strong> sweet flute sang and said: to Mary came Gabriel. After all <strong>the</strong> sheep had<br />
slept. The shepherds said, “We cannot sleep and leave <strong>the</strong> sheep”. Somebody may come and carry<br />
<strong>the</strong>m away. Let’s divide ourselves two <strong>of</strong> us sleep and two <strong>of</strong> us guard <strong>the</strong> sheep and <strong>the</strong>y did so.<br />
