Week 7- Four Men Carry <strong>the</strong> Paralytic<br />

Prepare pictures for today’s lesson<br />
Ask a child to lift a chair up. He cannot <strong>of</strong> course. Ask two children to cooperate in lifting it<br />
up.<br />
Lesson Outlines:<br />
One day Jesus was in a village called Capernaum. He was in a house teaching <strong>the</strong> people. When<br />
people heard that Jesus was in that house, <strong>the</strong>y all began to come. The house was full <strong>of</strong> people<br />
because everybody was eager to listen to Jesus.<br />
A sick man was paralized meaning that he could not walk and had to be carried on his bed. He<br />
had four friends who cared about him. The four men heard that Jesus was preaching in that house,<br />
and <strong>the</strong>y knew if Jesus would only lay his hand on <strong>the</strong>ir paralytic friend, he would be healed. So, <strong>the</strong><br />
four men decided to carry <strong>the</strong> man toge<strong>the</strong>r to Jesus Christ.<br />
They began to go on <strong>the</strong>ir way, but when <strong>the</strong>y arrived to <strong>the</strong> house, <strong>the</strong>y saw that <strong>the</strong> house was<br />
full. They could not go through <strong>the</strong> door because people were standing in <strong>the</strong> way. They began to<br />
think toge<strong>the</strong>r “what should we do?” Finally, by putting <strong>the</strong>ir heads toge<strong>the</strong>r because “two are better<br />
than one”, <strong>the</strong>y came up with an idea. They would send <strong>the</strong>ir paralytic friend through <strong>the</strong> ro<strong>of</strong>. The<br />
ro<strong>of</strong> was<strong>of</strong> straw, so this idea was going to work. In order for <strong>the</strong>m to send <strong>the</strong> man through <strong>the</strong> ro<strong>of</strong>,<br />
<strong>the</strong>y had to be careful. They all had to carry <strong>the</strong> man carefully and steady because “two are better<br />
