Introduction:<br />
Review <strong>the</strong> previous lesson and verse with <strong>the</strong> students<br />
Prepare picture, slides or video if available for <strong>the</strong> story.<br />
Ask <strong>the</strong> children what is a river?<br />
Have you seen a river before? Where?<br />
What can happen if you go into a river?<br />
Lesson Outlines:<br />
God told his people that I want to take you to a very nice place to live in. I will take you to<br />
a land where <strong>the</strong>re are lots <strong>of</strong> good fruits, milk, honey and many o<strong>the</strong>r goodies. But you have<br />
to cross a river called Jordan River to get to this land.<br />
What did God want to give His people?<br />
What did <strong>the</strong> people <strong>of</strong> God have to cross?<br />
What was <strong>the</strong> name <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> river?<br />
So, God told Joshua, who became <strong>the</strong> new leader after Moses, in <strong>the</strong> morning I will help you<br />
cross <strong>the</strong> river. I want you to ask <strong>the</strong> priests to carry <strong>the</strong> ark (show <strong>the</strong> children a picture <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> ark<br />
or a model <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> ark) and walk in front <strong>of</strong> My people. Once <strong>the</strong>y touch <strong>the</strong> water <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> river with<br />
<strong>the</strong>ir feet <strong>the</strong> river will split open and <strong>the</strong>y will cross on <strong>the</strong> land at <strong>the</strong> bottom <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> river. The<br />
water will not touch <strong>the</strong>m and none <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m will even get wet.<br />
