Week 4 - The Lost Sheep<br />

God’s love and care for us<br />

Introduction:<br />

Prepare <strong>the</strong> following visual aids:<br />

A picture <strong>of</strong> a sheep or some sheep or a model <strong>of</strong> a small sheep.<br />

A shepherd’s staff (stick). Some green plants as food. A flute for <strong>the</strong> shepherd for singing hymns.<br />

The picture <strong>of</strong> Christ, <strong>the</strong> good shepherd to be shown at <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> story.<br />

Who has seen a sheep?<br />

How does it look like?<br />

What does it eat?<br />

How does he speak?<br />

Lesson Outlines:<br />

Give <strong>the</strong> children an idea about how sheep live. They live toge<strong>the</strong>r in one place... <strong>the</strong>y go out<br />

toge<strong>the</strong>r every day to search for good, in any garden, and drink from any canal... <strong>the</strong>y walk behind <strong>the</strong><br />

good-hearted shepherd... who hold <strong>the</strong> staff in his hand to protect <strong>the</strong>m from any dog or wolf... He<br />

holds some clover in his hand and <strong>the</strong>y ga<strong>the</strong>r around him...<br />

Marcos has one hundred sheep... he loves <strong>the</strong>m. He knows each one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m by name... Every day<br />

<strong>the</strong>y leave <strong>the</strong> house and go to <strong>the</strong> gardens and <strong>the</strong> fields to eat, play, drink and enjoy <strong>the</strong> beauty <strong>of</strong><br />

nature. There is a nice sheep among <strong>the</strong> sheep called Foufou. The Servant describes <strong>the</strong> beauty <strong>of</strong><br />

Foufou, its love for its bro<strong>the</strong>rs and its thin voice... maa…maa…maa... One day, uncle Marcos took<br />

his children <strong>the</strong> sheep, which were gentle and sweet... and said to <strong>the</strong>m, “Today we are going for a<br />

walk in a very nice place full <strong>of</strong> clover. It is far away from here”. They became very happy and<br />
