Sunday School Curriculum <strong>Grade</strong> 1<br />
The man with <strong>the</strong> sweet face said, “I went <strong>the</strong>re many times”. The boy went back to <strong>the</strong> house and<br />
told his fa<strong>the</strong>r about <strong>the</strong> man with <strong>the</strong> bright face... but his fa<strong>the</strong>r could not see him. However, <strong>the</strong><br />
fa<strong>the</strong>r asked him to go to Media with his son and when <strong>the</strong>y came back, he would give him his wage.<br />
The mo<strong>the</strong>r was anxious about her son as he was her only son. She wept bitterly but she rejoiced<br />
when Tobiah’s fa<strong>the</strong>r told her that <strong>the</strong> Lord’s angel would accompany <strong>the</strong> boy to Media, guard him<br />
on <strong>the</strong> road and take care <strong>of</strong> him till he came back to <strong>the</strong>m.<br />
He took his dog with him and on <strong>the</strong> way he slept beside <strong>the</strong> sea. When he woke up, he went to <strong>the</strong><br />
water to wash his feet. Then, all <strong>of</strong> a sudden a whale came out <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> water and he was scared. But <strong>the</strong><br />
angel said to him, “Hold it by its gills... cut it… get its heart and liver out...” and <strong>the</strong> boy did so. He<br />
put some salt on its meat and ate. They continued <strong>the</strong>ir trip to Media and <strong>the</strong>y got <strong>the</strong> money back to<br />
Tobiah <strong>the</strong> fa<strong>the</strong>r. Tobiah also met his wife Sarah on this trip and got married. When <strong>the</strong>y came back<br />
<strong>the</strong> dog was ahead <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m and it barked loudly. His fa<strong>the</strong>r rejoiced that his son came back home safe.<br />
The boy put a piece <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> whale’s liver on <strong>the</strong> eyes <strong>of</strong> his fa<strong>the</strong>r and he immediately was able to see<br />
again. They tried to reward <strong>the</strong> man who accompanied <strong>the</strong> boy, but <strong>the</strong> man said, “I am <strong>the</strong> Angel<br />
Raphael standing before <strong>the</strong> Lord... Peace be to you... Do not be afraid”. Tobiah’s fa<strong>the</strong>r was very<br />
happy that his son was accompanied by <strong>the</strong> angel Raphael in his trip. He lived till he saw Tobiah’s<br />
sons and grandsons.<br />

from danger and guide us in everything we do.<br />
