Recommendation
Fund as a High priority. The project addresses water supply priorities of the Board by implementing reclaimed water supply in the
Central portion of Pasco County. The project is local in its implementation, however it would provide regional benefits as it is near
regional potable water wellfields. The cooperator has confirmed it will request the necessary matching funds in a future capital
improvement program budget. There was sufficient data submitted to evaluate the project, it is within the Board's statutory authority
to fund, and it is not the result of a permit requirement or enforcement action . The County ranked this project 12th on their list of 15
FY2013 CFI requests.
Description
This proposed FY2013 project is for the design and construction of an 8-inch diameter reclaimed water line from the County's
reclaimed water transmission main on US41 to a new isolated pond on the Groves Golf Course property in Land O' Lakes. The
project will provide reclaimed water for irrigation at the Golf Course and some common areas within the community.
Benefits
The project will supply the Groves Golf Course and common areas with 0.25 mgd of reclaimed water to offset 0.18 mgd of existing
irrigation (current source groundwater wells).
Costs
The total cost of the project is estimated to be $200,000, Pasco County has requested $100,000 in FY2013 funding from the
District for fifty percent of the funding, however their submitted project schedule shows they will only use a portion ($25,000) of the
share in FY2013. As such, District staff reduced the FY2013 District grant to only the amount that will be expended in FY2013. The
remaining District share ($75,000) is anticipated to be requested in FY2014. The estimated cost, amortized at 8 percent over 30
years is $0.26 per 1000 gallons offset.
